Choosing the best Brow Enhancement Artist

Microblading is a semi-permanent type of cosmetic tattooing. You want to carefully choose the right Artist because *it’s your face!* Not only are we talking about good style, we’re talking about choosing an Artist who deeply understands the science and technical precision necessary to create eyebrows that look natural after healing, as well as a year or two later. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and when you see a high price tag on cosmetic services, you’re paying for expertise. This is not the time to turn to Groupon for a deal.

First let’s talk about what semi-permanent means. Microbladed eyebrows are designed to fade over about two years. As our face and coloring changes over time we don’t want to be stuck with something that no longer compliments our look. On a more technical level, this means that the pigment is not deposited as deeply as a body tattoo. Getting the depth correct is a skill that requires consistent practice and experience with all different types of skin. Different areas of the eyebrow require varying depths of pigment deposit due to changes in skin density. For example, the skin at the head of the eyebrow is tougher than the skin at the tail of the brow. Slightly more pressure is required to achieve a lasting hair stroke at the head of the brow. If the same pressure is applied on the brow tail, the lines could blur or turn cool over time.

An experienced Artist looks at your skin coloring, condition, and oil production to determine the correct pigment shade for your eyebrows. In another example, we have two people with the same coloring but different types of skin. The oilier-skined person will require a warmer shade of pigment to compensate for the oil production, which changes the pigment color over time.

Every set of eyebrows I create are unique and designed just for you. Your face shape, eye size, and bone structure all factor into the final brow shape you and I choose together. Whether you like your eyebrows thin or thick, highly polished or bushy, I can create an enhancement that’s perfect for your face.
A little background about the Artist: I received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from Baylor University and enjoy many types of creative work, from drawing to sculpture.

Semi-Permanent Brow Enhancement aftercare

It is essential that you follow these instructions after your Microblading/Hybrid Brow sessions:
Day One (day of the treatment): included aftercare product will be applied to your eyebrows before leaving the studio. Thirty minutes post procedure you'll rinse with water only to remove the lymph from the skin and then reapply the  ointment. Wash your face in the evening being careful to very gently clean the eyebrows. Apply ointment product with a cotton swab in a thin layer to coat the fresh lines. It does not take much.
Day Two-Nine: Wash face as usual. Apply the ointment to your eyebrows twice daily, or as directed. Apply with a cotton swab and use no aggressive movement or manipulation of the skin. Make sure your hands are completely clean before caring for your eyebrows.
The following MUST BE AVOIDED during all nine days post-Microblading procedure:
Eyebrow makeup
Excessive sweating (if you cannot avoid sweating, it's imperative to wash your face ASAP)
Playing sports/hot yoga
Hot sauna or steam room
Sunbathing or salon tanning
Any laser or chemical peelings, and/or any creams containing glycolic acid or Retin-A on the face
Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micropigmented area in order to avoid scarring or removal of the pigment
High dust areas (garage or basement cleaning)
Drinking alcohol in excess as it may lead to slower healing of wounds
Touching the eyebrow area except for when rinsing/cleansing and applying of aftercare treatment with a clean cotton swab

Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post enhancement procedure, however, experience has shown that these symptoms can be reduced by following the above instructions. The healing of deeper wounds might last between 14-21 days. Touch ups and/or correction of the shape/design is recommended only after this period.

Your new semi-permanent eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. The pigment will appear very sharp and dark immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin and has not yet settled in completely. The color of the pigment will soften gradually and the lines will become thinner. Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment in the cotton swab as this is excess pigment and/or body fluid that is naturally exiting your skin.
Once the healing of the skin starts it will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly, however, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally removed from your eyebrows.
Once completely healed, always protect your ink with a layer of sunscreen, SPF 30, or more. *Sun exposure, the use of retinoids, peels, laser treatments and other powerful exfoliators can cause the pigmentation to fade prematurely.*
To preserve the look of your eyebrows, retouching every 12 months is necessary. Your eyebrows will fade gradually over time, which is desired as our faces and coloring change.
You can now enjoy your beautiful new semi-permanent eyebrows!

Intro to Microblading

Microblading (also known as Feather Stroke or 3D Brows) is a modern, semi- permanent, custom type of eyebrow tattooing. Unlike older methods of cosmetic tattooing that require a machine and often result in clunky, unnatural brows, Microblading is accomplished entirely by hand through a precise technique customized to create your perfect brow. After a thorough consultation, your brow is carefully mapped according to your unique facial structure using specially designed software as well as the technician's artistry and ability; it can take nearly an hour to perfect your custom brow map, which will be used as a guide during service. At the time of your appointment, the technician will carefully follow your brow map, meticulously hand-drawing each hair line into your brow for a hyper-realistic, subtle look that is nearly indistinguishable from your natural hair. Results will last for up to two years.

This treatment is ideal for anyone who needs gaps filled, over-plucked eyebrows made full again, or require full reconstruction due to medical conditions. Or, if you're simply tired of using pencils and wants to achieve a "perfect brow" -- but with imperfect results -- Microblading is an excellent, low maintenance option.

Prices start at $600, which includes a perfecting session one month after service. 18 month touch up appointments start at $250. Your initial consultation is free.
